One Wish….
So, today like many Sundays people go to mass and the Reading was basically of Solomon. (No need for details because I know how you all feel anyways) So in the reading it talked about how God was going to grant him one thing he asked for and he asked for Wisdom.
Now, it really made me think because it was compared to a type of wish like similarity. If you were granted one wish what would you want? I was thinking and thinking … So many people would ask for materialistic things in their one wish. money, power, immortality, more of everything they can handle… and I started thinking even more…. If I had one wish, what would I wish for at the moment? Money would be nice but it’s not everything, Power- I don’t want it but I know how to use it… Immortality, well I could keep trying until I get something right but I would see so many perish in my time I would end up lonely… but, I would gain wisdom through the years. Well, either way we gain wisdom through life and experience…
My one wish as belittling or as Miss America or Miss World would proclaim…. “WORLD PEACE” sure cliche and unrealistic but hear me out.
With so much chaos in this world, hate driven society, uncompromising people, to each their own mentality, lacking love and comprehension for you neighbor, stealing away goods, corruption in kids, war against each other over power, over who has the bigger d***, over materialistic none sense, there has to be more to humanity. But, that hope is in vain and I know it. Everybody tries to gain status and they screw over who ever they could just to get to the top, they give up humility to to humiliate. Sadly, it’s human nature. I choose not to give up hope in people and expect what is right but the war has to stop within our own self too, before we can compromise with the person next to you and your family and the world.
So I thought “If everybody accepted, compromised, loved and understood one another we’d have world peace!!” I guess some agree while others disagree which is the main reason we don’t have world peace because people are too egotistical to try and compromise. It’s all over the world. It’s hard within family households. How do you reach a common understanding, still promoting love and unity, understanding everybody’s position so you can all compromise, and accept it… If we all started at home how ideal would we all be to show love and support for the rest of our friends, families, neighbors near by and world wide.
That is my wish, unrealistic and will never happen…Sadly!!!! But, I will hope for it!!

If I had just one wish,
It would be that every person would know that they are truly, deeply, unconditionally loved.

I wish that everybody was generally on the same page and knew……..the truth…….about our origins……the origin of life……absolute truth.

My one wish is kind of along the same line. A world where there is tolerance, acceptance, and compassion for one another. That conflicts could be resolved in a manner that is beneficial for all involved, that people wouldn’t have to give their lives for freedoms and ideals and politics. So yeah… peace…

I’d like to wish for world peace too.
It’s not unrealistic, as long as we can have that hope and possiblity for peace within ourselves then eventually enough people will hold peace within them and it will have a cascade effect, a fire cannot satrt if it’s surrounded by water.
So don’t say it’s unrealistic or will never happen, because as much as war might currently be our ‘human nature’ so is peace.
My wish I think would be for world Wisdom, perhaps then we could figure out how best to solve all the other issues

since world peace, world wisdom, world love, world origins, world tolerance and compassion have all been taken. i wish for a world were no one will know hunger.
if a wish of world peace can be granted, that would mean your wish don’t only affect you, but each of the people living on the planet.. not only affect, but changes them.. wishing for wisdom if wishing something about you changes.. so it’s still logical to be granted.. if wishing for world peace can be granted, that in itself is opposing the idea of free will, because everybody else would be changed against their will..
that those who call themselves Christians would really BE who they say they are.
@opticalnoise - How I wish!!! If society didn’t condemn us to feeling less. This would be great and feeling love would glow with happiness and the world would be so much more beautiful.

I think that if we all understood each other it would be achievable but in order for this to happen we need to have less selfish world leaders. If the advocated for their people instead of themselves “peace”wouldn’t be so far away.

@BFB1131 - Yes, I like yours. I guess if the world had wisdom and we didn’t assume they would gain it with time the world would be more knowledgeable and then world peace would be more attainable. thank you for the new perspective.

@buddy71 - lol, Yes, that would be great!! I guess what we’re wishing is for the Utopia, paradise. I do wish world hunger ceases though so many people starving to death. Without resources. It’s sad.
@maniacsicko - of course I realize that peace affects others and not me. Why would I want peace for me? I’m a peaceful person for the most part, but I’m included in this world. I feel for the countries being attacked and or stuck in war. I’m talking about so many fatalities and people don’t notice those because they don’t care as long as it’s not in the country they live. People are dying over disagreements, innocent men, women and children. I would want change hence why “world peace” would be what I ask for… You speak of free-will like all the people in the planet know what free-will is… not everybody has it. World peace would mean that rulers would do more for their people and not just to gain power or status. That their people didn’t fear them but lived in an environment of peace.
@stephensmustang - Exactly!! And promote love and tolerance for others. Now, if true Christianity was discovered in it’s form, people would easily follow and not promote hate for others. IF people realized that they’re not the ones who should judge but if god does exist he’ll would be the one to. And god says love one another,then he would love everybody and not condemn because he forgives all. The hate should stop. We should all live in love and tolerance and no hating on one another. Then religion would be easier.
@pinktiger335 - “World peace would mean that rulers would do more for their people and not just to gain power or status.” yeah, that part is the tricky part, because your wish will flush away their “free will”, because it’s their intention to have those kind of things, and if it means other people suffer, so be it..
by the way, i’m not saying anything against your wish.. i’m just pointing out to the reality..
we can change people actually.. it takes decades, but history shows us that it can happen, if we persevere.. the only thing is, from the look at the new generations, the changes ahead seems more likely for to be for the worse.. for the most part..
Id wish for immortality. Not because I’m afraid of dying, but realistically, its the only way I can learn everything I want to, and accomplish all the things I’d hope to. I suppose that would start sucking after I had done all of that though. But, ultimately I could become some type of guardian hermit. Watch people from afar and be a mediator when necessary. I’d have weird looking eyes, and be given some cryptic name by the people. lol I have a bit too much of an imagination.
Within that context, I have come to understand that people won’t get there on their own. Most of what I want to do, is take an active part in shaping a better future. And all of what I want to learn are things that would help me and help others. Restoring the world’s ecosystems would be a major goal…. Yeah.
@maniacsicko - Will flush away who’s free-will the rulers that don’t do anything for their people but their personal gain? Oh me, oh my not the free-will of cruelty… If it means a better world for those who suffer now, so be it…
Darling, I realize that you’re pointing out reality.And the fact is that I know world peace is improbable. What world peace entitles is a Utopia which we know can’t exist.Someone always wants that free-will to do what ever they want.People don’t want equality, they want to be better off than people. Personal gain to see their worth. It’s human nature and that we cannot change. We can change a controlled society which is what NWO is about but would it be world peace or world domination.
And for peace there is no other way then away it still wouldn’t be peace because eventually it would lead to revolutions… haha funny how this is just a cruel cycle. And I hadn’t thought of all of this. You opened my eyes. =]
I don’t believe we can change for the better now especially with the way society is functioning now. We can surely try but like you’ve mentioned in many places people will not allow their free-will to be taken away. It’s not only about free-will, what about their religious beliefs, there will be mass murdering for order to happen to cause possible fear and then the peace that comes after the silence. *sigh* so much pain that can be inflicted just in the thought of world peace
@crim077 - yes, immortality… although a lil selfish, it’s not… who is to say we shouldn’t have the right to immortality. Yes, you would be looked upon for wisdom since you would have lived through many different eras in time and you know what have worked and hasn’t first hand. People would give you a name and either be scared or worship you which in hand would make you be like a god in their eyes..So many things can happen. Since immortality would have to come from a higher power, you would be a chosen one type. Imagination is good to have. It stops life from being a dull moment. And goals within that immortality wish is great!!
Solomon wished for wisdom so it that one is taken I wish for UNDERSTANDING.
If I had one wish it would be to always be happy.
@TrainTrack - That’s a very good one!! =D It would lead to a lot of wisdom nonetheless. Smart man! And probably my second first would be patience. Lol

@pinktiger335 - The wish isn’t entirely selfish, depending upon what is done with it. If I dedicated myself eternally to helping others and preventing wars and things since I was immortal I could stand down armed gunmen and such. There are countless things I could do to help make the world a better place.

I honestly don’t know what I would wish for. Ritz’s comment reminded me of an old song called “Three Wishes,” but that wouldn’t apply here.
