  • Kill to not play Yahtzee

Can someone tell me what's wrong with Minnesota and to think I wanted to visit family out there next month....

Instead of asking what is wrong I guess I can ask what is still okay there... not that california is doing any better...

I kid, I kid... I know nothing about what is really going on just that MN pops up sometimes....

So, I've heard of the game Yahtzee but never seen it, played it or know anything about it... It must be quite a game indeed though.  (sarcasm, and curiosity all at once)

This story here which I am unaware whether it's true or false (but was brought up in mass on Sunday) but it seems like its true... But, what game would make you so angry you would want to kill the person who suggested it... much more if it was you mother?

Apparently, two youngsters Jacob (17) and Andrew (18) were asked to play a game of Yahtzee around Christmas time by their mother. They apparently refused or something happened (can't assume but it was always confrontational) but the younger bro strangled mom while the other out a plastic bag over her head.

We'll never know if it started as self defense or if they were truly in the act of a malicious act. Then again strangled,bag... no so self defense more like a person vendetta to me...

Truly and utterly sad that kids have no respect for their parents...Ok, so you didn't want to play but really?Kill you mom? what kind of "f"-ed up sh*t is this... Leave and walk away... the worst part was their 25yr old half bro kept the body hidden for enough time until they were able to bury her. The body was found last week...

Would a board game make you so angry you'd wanna kill someone?

What has the world come down to? People lack empathy for others and are being desensitized to the consequences of killing.

  • Everybody knows that if a board game makes you angry, and you can't let it out any other way, the best thing to do is take the board and throw it ten feet in the air so that all the pieces come fluttering/crashing down on the table, leaving the other person aghast at your own display of immaturity.

  • That is all sorts of fucked up.  There is something to be said about the sheer amount of gore in the media.  But that is nowhere near the root of the problem.

  • did that really happened?

  • the thing in MN...both sides didn't want to compromise on a budget bill so they went home.  Even though they ended the shutdown a lot of agencies won't be opening for a while.  I was just reading that most state parks will be opening up today but others have to have work done before they can open because of vandalism.  I was living up there the last time the state shutdown.  It was just for a few days but that was hell.  They shut down rest areas along the highway.  So stupid.

I get angry when people bend the rules of games to allow people a chance to win.  Then when they bend the rules I demand that they allow me to use that leeway.

  • @maniacsicko - I think it is... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2014477/Tamara-Lee-Mason-3-brothers-killed-mother-Christmas-Day-Yahtzee-game.html

I was a little thrown off because I was finding it in weird blogging posts.... and no real mainstream news but I think it actually is.

  • @how2saveaplanet - Well who knows what happened... maybe they did throw the board game but it was Christmas... :/

@crim077 - it is very sad... I don't know how the media plays in the role of these gentlemen but I couldn't find this in mainstream news... I know about this because it was mentioned in a mass I went to and the priest briefly talked about it.

The problem is where some people have mental illnesses or socialpath, anti-social or any other type of psychology problem that is not seen or understood and it's generally dismissed as nothing and this happens.
@godfatherofgreenbay - So, the state is definitely to blame. jk I can't imagine how anything can function with a shutdown.

I'm sure not angry enough to kill but if you were to I guess you would have total and ultimate leeway next time. just sayin

  • i dont think this was the root of the problem... maybe it was just the final straw....but this is beyond ....... ive seen a few cases of kids killing parents... theyre usually out of spite....

  • @Snoog420 - oh I'm sure it's not the root. There has to be something else... There is always something else if you read the comment I left above or well here --> "The problem is where some people have mental illnesses or socialpath, anti-social or any other type of psychology problem that is not seen or understood and it's generally dismissed as nothing and this happens. "  But, there has to be an underline problem... lack of communication, parent negligence, miserable lives... and or something in life happened to those kids... there are so many hypothetical that we can't truly answer since we don't know. All I'm saying and what I wrote was based on how the media was portraying... saying that all she wanted to do was play a game.. of course there is more and people who think that was the root of the kill must be truly naive. But, they were only talking about the kill and not what sparked the kill... which I don't know a reason why someone would kill but people have issues.

  • yea....idk media is blah... but tyen again they know how to grab our attention...

  • @Snoog420 - Agreed!! But, it wasn't even mainstream. I only took interest in finding out where this was true was when I heard it in mass (very briefly) mentioned by the priest on sunday.

  • I take it this Yahtzee story took place in Minnesota ! It’s a disturbing story and the worst part of it is that something similar like that probably happens on a fairly regular basis….. we probably don’t hear about it a lot of the times it happens. Clearly something was very wrong with all of those kids, though I mean at their ages they were all practically adults…. More than old enough to understand what they were doing was wrong.
I would think something was very off in that family, and the killing would have had much more to do than just about a game of Yahtzee, but unless all the facts come out in a trial no one will ever really know what prompted those kids to do something so despicable. I hope the justice system runs its course and the two of them, well the three of them including the other brother all that sentenced very very very harshly.
I’ve been watching a show called Mujeres Asesinas and by watching that I can see at least some reasons why people murder. The show is based on true stories and it’s definitely hard to watch at times but its well done I think. Ultimately though people who choose to kill have done probably the most horrible thing they can do to another person, and they should be punished for that.
It’s just depressing that everyday reading the paper someone dies, but until people learn to respect one another and work out their differences, and release their anger in other ways, nothing will change. Anyways, very interesting topic ! I hope that everything has been going well with you lately. Take care and I’ll talk to you later, bye for now.
